8 Things I Missed While on Hiatus

As you probably know by now, The Archaeology of Tomb Raider has just returned from a 3-month hiatus. Granted, I didn’t physically go anywhere but I gave myself a much-needed break from monitoring and relaying Tomb Raider franchise news to my readers and social media followers. Time and tide wait for no Croft and, as a result, I’m now feeling a little out of the proverbial loop… So what did I miss during the site’s downtime? Oscar-Winning Actress Lands Role as the New ... Lara Croft & the Temple of Osiris: First Impressions

Thanks to what I can only assume was a slight boo-boo on my local gamestore’s part, I received my copy of Lara Croft & the Temple of Osiris (Gold Edition) almost a week ahead of its official release date and ended up spending part of my weekend playing through the first few sections of the game in both single-player and 2-player co-op mode. Without spoiling too much, I thought I’d share my first impressions of the game with you and post some of the screenshots I took in-game. ... [Continue Reading]

Lara Croft: Reflections Has Been Axed

If you were hoping for a worldwide release of Lara Croft: Reflections, your hopes have officially been dashed. After months of speculation about the game’s fate, RenRen Games announced today that the game’s servers will be shut down on 5th August 2014. It’s perhaps not surprising that Lara Croft: Reflections failed to live up to peoples’ expectations. Although it was soft-launched last December, few fans knew of its existence due to a lack of promotion or official ... [Continue Reading]

Square Enix Launches Lara Croft: Reflections

UPDATE: RenRen Games have announced that the game’s servers will be shut down in August 2014. Based on this, it now seems very unlikely that Lara Croft: Reflections will be released worldwide as previously planned.  When Square Enix trademarked the name Lara Croft: Reflections in March 2013, it sparked a flurry of speculation within the Tomb Raider fan community. Was it the name of the upcoming sequel to 2013’s reboot game? Could it be an expansion pack or DLC? Was it the name of ... [Continue Reading]
