Lara Croft: Relic Run

Arte-Factual: Golden Trident (Relic Run)

In the mobile adventure Lara Croft: Relic Run, gamers have the chance to collect a number of South-East Asian artefacts in the game’s Jungle Temple level. One of these is the Golden Trident, a religious symbol commonly associated with the Hindu god Shiva. The Golden Trident is better known by its Sanskrit name trishula, which means “three spears” or “three blades”, and can often be seen wielded by the Hindu god Shiva and his consort Durga, who manifests herself ... Fans of the more light-hearted fare of the pre-reboot Tomb Raider games can look forward to a brand-new comic series this autumn: Lara Croft & the Frozen Omen (Update: Check out the preview of issue 1 over here or read my review). In an article published on Polygon earlier today, Dark Horse Comics announced that they will be publishing a series based in the Lara Croft universe that will be written by Corinna Bechko and drawn by Randy Green, whose name will be familiar to fans of ... With Rise of the Tomb Raider still months away from release, the endless-runner mobile game Lara Croft: Relic Run has provided Tomb Raider fans with their much-needed fix of Crofty goodness. What to Expect at E3 2015

E3 2015 opens in less than 2 weeks and the Tomb Raider fan community is already buzzing with excitement. Earlier this week, Xbox and Crystal Dynamics released a short CGI teaser trailer to whet the fanbase’s appetite while visitors to the game’s official Xbox page were invited to look for clues hidden across the page. These clues were little tidbits of information about the game’s plot and primary antagonists, narrated by Lara (Camilla Luddington) herself. You can find ... [Continue Reading]

Lara Croft’s Jurassic World – Five Memorable Moments With Dinosaurs

Now, repeat after me: Archaeologists don’t dig dinosaurs. They. Do NOT. Dig dinosaurs. There’s such a wide misconception that archaeologists dig up fossils and dinosaur bones for a living that some musically-minded archaeologists have taken to Youtube to remind the public, in no uncertain terms, that they “don’t do dinosaurs” and that “digging up dinos is palaeontology”. So if it’s dinosaurs you’re after, it’s Dr Grant you need, ... [Continue Reading]

Lara Croft: Relic Run – First Impressions and Screenshots

UPDATE: Lara Croft: Relic Run is now available across the world for iOS devices, Android, and Windows Phone. Please note that it may not be compatible with older devices or available in all countries just yet. The upcoming mobile adventure-runner game Lara Croft: Relic Run was soft-launched in the Netherlands today and, honestly, it couldn’t have come at a better time. My day started off on the wrong foot, with every form of Dutch public transport conspiring to make me wish I had never ... [Continue Reading]

Square Enix Announce New Project – Lara Croft: Relic Run

UPDATE: The game was soft-launched in the Netherlands in mid-April. Here are my initial thoughts on Relic Run along with some screenshots and a gameplay video. After weeks of complaining about the lack of Tomb Raider news, we were suddenly deluged by a flood of information about the upcoming Rise of the Tomb Raider. And now it seems there may be another Lara Croft-branded game on the horizon: Lara Croft: Relic Run. News about Lara Croft: Relic Run hit Twitter after some sharp-eyed fans ... [Continue Reading]
