‘Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition’ Announced

Square Enix has announced that a definitive edition of Shadow of the Tomb Raider will be released on November 5, 2019, and will contain all available content to date as well as some brand new content and gameplay features.

Those who already own a copy of the Croft Edition and season pass will be able to upgrade to the Definitive Edition for free while those who own the standard edition will have the option to purchase the Definitive Edition Extra Context bundle via Xbox Live, PSN, or Steam. The game will also make its Stadia debut in late November.

There’s been a lot of speculation and controversy surrounding the Definitive Edition, with many fans believing that a mystery 8th DLC pack would be included with this new release, one that could give fans what they’ve been clamouring for all along: a fully playable Croft Manor.

Sadly, it looks like their hopes have been dashed. According to Kotaku, it appears that the Definitive Edition will not contain any new bonus tombs or a Croft Manor expansion. But fans can look forward to a new outfit – curiously named “Croft Fitness” – as well as some new gameplay adjustments. Players will now have the option to remove the outfit restrictions in the main hub once they have completed the game.
