Some of you may recall that I visited Rome, the so-called “The Eternal City”, for a few days in mid November. I’ve finally gotten round to sorting through my holiday photos so I thought I’d share some of the photos I took at Trajan’s Market. Tomb Raider fans will probably recognise the name as it was one of the places Lara Croft visits in the 2000 game Tomb Raider Chronicles.
I’m toying with the idea of exploring Trajan’s Market in greater depth in an upcoming edition of Lara’s Travels, so keep an eye out for that. In the meantime, enjoy the photos I took in and around the site. As you can probably tell, the real Trajan’s Market looks radically different to its video game counterpart. And unlike Lara, the most terrifying creature I had to deal with was a friendly black cat who lives among the ruins.
